Freelancers: £700 + VAT
Students in full-time education: £550 inc VAT

Course Overview

To maximize hands-on content, course size is limited to 10 places. It is highly intensive. You will cover a lot of ground, mastering the fundamentals that are the building blocks of film and TV. This knowledge will stand you in good stead for a career in the industry. You will be using state-of-the-art cameras and the full range of modern lighting kit.

What Will I Learn?

  • Camera and optics theory
  • 1st and 2nd Camera Assistant: duties and practice
  • Lighting theory and practice
  • The role of the Gaffer
  • You will be expected to light and shoot a scene on location. You can use the video clips you shot for your showreel.

Is It For Me?

This course is for people with some prior experience in film and TV. You might already be working in the industry or studying at university or college in media/film & TV production. You will want to embed what you already know, or have been taught, and fill in the remaining gaps that you may have in your understanding. By the end of the week you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills that are vital for working in this industry.

  • Price for students in full-time education: £550
  • Upon successful application, a 50% deposit is payable
  • Once the deposit is received your place on the course will be confirmed.  The balance is payable 30 days before course commences.
