Core Grappling Circuit (Norwich Open 2026)


Core Grappling Circuit (CGC) Norwich Open 2026 is a professionally run event featuring Gi & No-Gi divisions for all levels. Hybrid rules, exciting matches, and a strong competitive atmosphere.

This event is designed to deliver a professional, well-organised competition experience for athletes of all levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. Our goal is to create a smooth, exciting, and fair environment where competitors can test themselves and enjoy the day.

Spectators can buy tickets on the door.


🥋 RULESET

This event will follow a hybrid ruleset:

  • Gi divisions will follow International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation-style rules
  • No-Gi divisions will follow North American Grappling Association-style rules

Additional notes:

  • Points-based scoring system in all divisions
  • Matches are submission-focused with emphasis on control and progression
  • Legal submissions vary depending on age and experience level

Full rules will be released prior to the event.

🥇 DIVISIONS

  • Gi and No-GI divisions available
  • Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels
  • Kids, Juniors, Juveniles, and Adult divisions

Divisions may be merged where necessary to ensure competitive and fair brackets.


👶 KIDS DIVISIONS

Kids divisions are focused on:

  • Safety
  • Experience
  • Enjoyment

Divisions may be combined based on weight, age, or experience to ensure all children get matches and a positive competition experience.


🏆 ABSOLUTE DIVISIONS

  • Absolute divisions are available for Adult Male divisions only (GI and No-Gi)
  • Entry is limited to division winners only
  • This ensures high-level, competitive absolute brackets


💰 PRIZES

  •  Cash prizes for Adult  Absolute divisions
  • Medals awarded for all divisions


⚖️ BRACKETS & MERGING

To maintain competitive matches:

  • Divisions may be merged based on entries
  • This includes weight, age, or skill level where appropriate
  • Our priority is fair and active brackets, not empty divisions


❗ REGISTRATION & CANCELLATIONS

  • All registrations must be completed before the deadline
  • Limited changes may be allowed before brackets are finalised
  • No refunds after the registration deadline
  • If a division has insufficient entries, competitors may be: 
  • Moved to a suitable division
  • Offered a refund if no match is possible
