The Nikon ZR is Nikon’s compact, video-first Z CINEMA camera, created with tech and know-how from RED

It’s built around a full-frame 6K capture pipeline and leans hard into real production needs: strong monitoring, flexible pro codecs, and a streamlined “grab it, rig it, roll” body that can live as an A-cam for lean crews or a B-cam alongside bigger cinema setups. A big part of the ZR’s identity is the blend of RED colour science with Nikon’s Z-mount ecosystem, giving shooters a cinema-oriented image and workflow while keeping the lens options broad and practical. It’s essentially Nikon saying: “Yes, we’re serious about cinema now,” then underlining it in 6K
