This adapter (sometimes called a “pup adapter”, “reducer spigot” or “spigot converter”) allows you to convert between standard grip/stage spigot diameters—specifically adapting a 16 mm (approx
5/8?) baby pin/spigot to a 28 mm (approx. 1 1/8?) junior mount (or vice-versa depending on the model). It is a simple but essential accessory for grip departments, enabling seamless compatibility between different stand, clamp and arm standards on production sets. For example, the model from Doughty is described as “a stainless-steel machined sleeve which adapts 28 mm to 16 mm”.
