12x12 50° Egg Crate

This large-format egg-crate grid (12 × 12 ft / approx

3.7 × 3.7 m) is a soft-fabric honeycomb grid designed for overhead diffusion frames or large softboxes. With a 50° beam-spread angle, it narrows and controls the light output—reducing spill, increasing directionality, and maintaining the soft quality of the light. For example, one variant from TRP Worldwide states: “Achieve controlled, directional light… Minimise light spill and lens flare using this 50-degree grid.” This is especially useful on production sets where large diffusion frames are used overhead (butterflies), or when you want large soft coverage but more control over the edges of the light.
